From 2018 to 2020 Aaron DeLay taught at Fort Morgan Middle School as a 6th-grade literacy teacher. In that time, he created the Creative Club and in the second year partnered with the art teacher to expand the offerings of the club. In 2020, he was given the chance to step up and into an alternative high school experience as a high school English Language Arts Teacher. To that end, the ideas of the former Creative Club have expanded into the idea that is today, Create at Morgan.
Create @ Morgan is a school club based at Lincoln High School, an alternative high school education (#alted) campus in Fort Morgan, CO. We consider ourselves a "production house" in that within our production umbrella we support, assist, and work with different groups, studios, and organizations.
Our mission is to give space to the voices of our students, staff, and community through the use of our new studio classroom. We have the ability to create podcasts, broadcasts, and music albums together with space for authors to brainstorm, write, and publish their writing electronically and in book form.
Those are not the limits - anything you can dream up is possible - be it art, drama, speech, poetry, performances, debates - there is no limit to what you can do at Create @ Morgan. It is open to all students in the Morgan County School District from 5th grade to High School students.
Our equipment is also available for use by the community in creating podcasts and other assorted media.
Our club sponsor is Aaron DeLay.
Our school has on average 40 students, and our students come from all backgrounds and experiences - and each of their stories matters and has value.
